The A. G. Dewey Mills Established 1836. Middlebury. When in New England visit Our Mill shops for fine Native woolens at Quechee gorge Vermont on Route 4 between Woodstock & Hanover, N. H. Middlebury. Vermont on Route 7 between Burlington & Rutland North Dorset Vermont on route 7 between Manchester & Rutland. The Vermont Mill stores of the A. G. Dewey company feature fine woolens made for generations by this family-owned New England mill, the first of its kind in America. The shop at scenic Quechee Gorge is located near the 162-foot highway bridge which formerly carried the old Woodstock Railway. The Middlebury and North Dorset Shops on Route 7 are both housed in one-room school houses built in 1823 and 1863.
