Additional Details:
This beautiful club house was opened on July 7, 1927, and was the first public club house and golf resort in the Shenandoah Valley. The structure is of Virginia colonial design with large dining room, dancing floor, lockers, showers, card rooms and club equipment. The nine-hole golf course occupies a part of New Market battlefield and is beautifully situated with Massanutten Mountain in the background. Plans of Shenvalee call for Royal Shenandoah Hotel, Lake Shenandoah, riding stable, eighteen hole golf course, landing field, and residential park. This view shows Bobby Jones, world famous golfer, exhibiting his skill before a crowd of Valley golfers and visitors.
