The natural and man-made breakwater which protects the Grand
Marais harbor provides a scenic setting for visiting artists. The rugged
appearance of the adjoining peninsula which juts out into Lake Superior
has an almost wilderness appearance even though it is within the
boundaries of the Village. Grand Marais is a favorite rest and relaxation
point on the Lake Superior Circle Tour and the North Shore Drive.
