A low sprawling cabin
'Neath tall, spreading trees,
Where songs of the birds
Ride in on the breeze.
A yard full of shrubs
And sweet smelling flowers;
A bench 'neath a tree
Where I pass pleasant hours.
A porch that looks out
On a lake full of fish;
What more in this life
Could an old fellow wish?
I rest and I dream
And contented am I,
While out on the highway
The world passes by.
