The new U.S.S. Cruiser "Houston" home from the wars for an 8-day Navy Week visit to her namesake city. The cruiser was built with funds from Houston citizens raised in a War Bond Campaign in December 1942, re- placing its immediate predecessor of the same name which was sunk by the Japs near Java, Feb. 18th, 1942.
