Among the antelopes in the herds of games till roaming the East African plains are kongoni hartebeest and Thomson gazelles. The hartebeest, with its high forehead and bracket-shaped horns is characteristic of this region. Thomson gazelles, called "Tommies" by hunters, are common in East Africa. They are one of the tames tof the gazelles. In the background behind the "tommies" are Roberts gazelles, larger than the others.
