Additional Details:
The gamsbok, the largest antelope of the genus Oryz, is known by its long, slightly curves horns. All are handsome animals with compact bodies and shoy markings, but the most striking is the gemsbok. It is found in southwestern Africa, mostly in desert areas from Angola and the Kalshari Desert to the northern parts of Cape Province. From a group in Akeley African Hall, The American Museum of Natural History.
