| This rear view of the Rankin House and well shows the hills of Kentucky in the background. From these hills nearly two thousand runaway slaves crossed the Ohio River to find succor and safety at this underground railroad station. The Rev. John Rankin was one of the most active agents in the Underground Railroad. The house is administered by The Ohio Historical Society. |
