For a time Fayetteville was the temporary capital of North Carolina, the State House occupying the site of the Old Market House, but it was destroyed in the great fire of 1831. The present Market House was erected in 1838 primarily as a Town Hall. It has been the scene of many memorable and historical incidents. E. C. Kropp Co. |
