| Nanih Waiya, or Bending Hill, in Winston County, is the sacred mound of the Choctaws. Nanih Waiya Mound is oblong in shape, 40 feet in height. It was probably used as a burial ground and place of worship by the early Choctaws. It is estimated that this mound dates to the 5th Century A.D. |
