Owned and occupied in 1660 by William Courser, First
Town Crier of Boston.
In 1737 by James Davenport, Brother-in-law of Benjamin
Franklin.
Owned from 1764-1785 by John Hancock.
The Continental Troops were paid here in 1779. This is
the oldest brick building in Boston now standing.
