Additional Details:
Nassau Hall, the oldest of Princeton University buildings, was erected in 1754-57. It was named for King William III, or the House of Nassau. Continental Congress met at Nassau from June 16th to Nov. 4th, 1783, and for five years it was used as a barracks and hospital for the British and Amerian armies; here Washington received national thanks for his successful conduct in the Revolution.
