KILAUEA VOLCANO.
Kilauea Volcano is the most accessible active
volcano in the world. On the banks of its crater
is situated the Volcano House and near by are
the sulphur baths from natural vapor cracks:
The circumference of the crater is 7.85 miles
and encloses an area of 2650 acres. The remark-
ably deep pit of the extinct crater Kilauea-iki,
a mile and a half to the Volcano House, is
easily reached. A splendid automobile road
goes to the brink of the crater.
