Founder of Girl Scouting in U.S.A. This is the only known photograph of Juliette Gordon Low wearing the necklace of pearls which she sold to finance the founding of Girl Scouting in America. The original photograph was presented to Scout House in New York by Mrs. Howard Phipps. President of the Greater New York Counell. Mrs. Phipps inherited the photograph from her mother, Mrs. Theodore Price, who was Mrs. Low's lifelong friend. Mrs. Low organized the first Girl Scout troop in Savannah, Ga., U.S.A: on March 12, 1912
