Absecon Lighthouse - Abandoned by Government in 1933 and replaced by Steel tower on Boardwalk at Oriental Ave. When lighted, Absecon light could be seen 20 miles at sea. Building constructed of brick painted yellow with black bands. Height 167 feet; has inside spiral stairway of 228 steps. Open to public; has rest and observation room near top.
