St. Charles Hotel. The present hotel was opened
Feb. 1st, 1896, and is one of the most magniffent hostelries
in the United States. It is highly artistic, equipped with
every modern convenience and has one of he largest
palm gardens in the country. This is the third St. Charles
Hotel erected on this site, the former two having been
destroyed by fire.
