Additional Details:
Fergus' Ark, floating Seafood Restaurant, has a fine reputation for serving the best steaks and chops as well as all types of fresh seafood. The Ark was built here in Wilmington in 1922 and has served as an army troop transport, a banana boat, a gambling boat and as a cost guard quarter boat until purchased by Eldridge Fergus in 1951 and converted into a floating restaurant and docked at the foot of Princess Street on the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, N.C

That's my Father Levy S. Barco in the white shirt beside our 1955 light blue Ford. My Father just dropped off the Coast Guard grey ''carryall'' (Chevy Surburban now) that we borrowed for weekend chores. My Father was Coast Guard Chief of port operations when he was stationed in Wilmington 1956 -1960 and had a small office on the dock where the Mendota was tied up. I was about 6 years old at the time and spotted this post card in a drugstore for 10 cents that I still have. Barry Barco
