"A Place in the History of Hospitality" "It was the cheapest, and as it turned out, the best choice. It is a rooming house from 1873, with a little Victorian flourish. We got one tiny, homey room. I felt instantly at home, like a warmly welcomed visitor in a friend's house. We could see Ocean park, the town gazebo, and the beach...also served up muffins and coffee (July/August)and gives away souvenir mugs and post-cards..." Newsday-July 30, 1989. Now with indoor plumbing and hot water! Shared baths. Where an old fashioned holiday on the island of Martha's Vineyard is still possible on a budget. Clean, antique rooms, Continental breakfast in July and August, shared baths, only steps to the beach, the ferry and harbor, shuttle buses, bike rentals, restaurants, movies, the historic gingerbread campgrounds, the Flying Horses Carousal and the spiritual refreshment of Ocean Park by the Sea
