Nancy Reagan, at Pinellas Park, Florida, joins fourth and
fifth grades, their teachers, counselors, and parents as
they told of the difference the Alpha Program has made in
the lives of children, especially in raising their self-esteem.
Mrs. Reagan advised the 20 or so students to "realize that
you are a person unto yourself and your own self-worth is
really important." She has whole-heartedly supported the
exemplary drug prevention programs in the nation. Here
she demonstrates one of the first and most powerful activi-
ties in any drug program-listening, and then listening
some more. The First Lady had warm press comments
about her_crusade against drugs and her Grandmother's
program. February 15, 1982
