| Canyon Diablo is a gash in level plain 540 feet wide and 222 feet deep and is crossed by a steel bridge 600 feet long. It has the appearance of a volcanic rent in the earth's crust. Through the notch at the bottom a thread of a stream trickles. The name is Spanish for "Devil's Canyon." |
