Eastern Band of the Creek Indian Nation. Poarch-Hedapadeda Land Grant. Shown here are Princess Morning Star and Maiden Evening Star. They live on the land grant given their ancestors by Gen. Andrew Jackson at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend in 1814. The Creek (Muscogee) Indians were generally designated as the Upper Creeks an the Lower Creeks. The misnomer, "Creek Confederacy" included the Yuchis, Tallassees, Talladegas, Tuskegees, Tukabatchees, Alabamas, Coosas, Natchez, Ozeailles, Savannahs, etc. (The Sminoles were originally Creeks). Some of the better known Creeks are: Chief Tuskaloosa, Alexander McGillivray, William McIntosh, Red Eagle, Big Warrior, Menawa, Little Warrior and Chief Talisi
