Marks the resting place of 2,111 unknown soldiers gathered after the Civil War from the fields of Bull Run and the route to the Banpahannock. To the right is seen the Temple of Flame around the dome of which, held on columns, are inscribed the names of the Army and Navy heroes. To the left is seen a rear view of the Curtis-Lee Mansion which was built in 1802. It is preserved as it was in the days of Curtis, the adopted son of Washington, who built it, and of Robert E. Lee, who married Mary Curtis within it and lived here until the Civil War
