Clean 2 doz. ackees by removing seeds and all of pink membrane in cleft of ackees, wash in cold water. Put to boil in lots of water with 1/2 lb. codfish until ackees are tender. Heat frying pan with 2 tablespoons butter, 2 fluid ozs. of oil. Add 2 onions, 1 large tomato, chopped, then slice or two of hot pepper, sprig of thyme and fry for a few minutes. Meanwhile, drain ackees. Flake Codfish. Add both to seasoning, simmer for 5 minutes, serve garnished with hard boiled eggs
