Miss Jennie Wade was killed the morning of July 3d, while attending to household duties in a little brick house on Baltimore Street, near the National Cemetery. She was the only citizen of Gettysburg who was killed during the battle. The house is now used as a free war museum and shows hundreds of marks of bullets and shell. The monument marks her last resting place in the Citizen's Cemetery
