Near the quaint mining town of Cooke, Mon-
tana, which was an inland town until 1935,
when the Beartooth Highway was completed,
is the northeast or Cooke entrance to Yellow-
stone National Park. This view shows historic
Republic Mountain just south of Cooke, and
the Government checking station, built in 1935
at the park boundary.
