OLD HALL OF DELEGATES
Capitol Building, Richmond, Virginia
The oldest law-making body in the Western Hemisphere, the
Virginia Legislature, assembled here from 1788 to 1906. In 1807
Aaron Burr was tried in this room for high treason and acquitted
by Chief Justice John Marshall. Also the Confederate Congress
convened here from 1861 to 1865.
