AASLEAGH FALLS NEAR LEENANE, CO. GALWAY: Leenane at
the head of the great Killary Harbour is a well-known fishing
and climbing centre of the West of Ireland. Above Leenane,
on the Galway/Mayo border, the Erriff River courses through
a wide valley between the mountains. The Aasleagh Falls, due
to their romantic setting, are one of the prettiest cascades on
the Erriff river. Behind rises Maamtrasna (2,239 feet), and the
curiously named Devilsmother (2,131 feet) of the Partry
Mountain range.
