monument of the Immaculate Heart adorns the grounds of
Dominguez Seminary, Compton, California, where young
men study for the Claretian priesthood. The site is that of
the historic Dominguez Ranch, marking the spot of the
Battle of Dominguez Hill. The ranch house (in background)
was built in 1826 of adobe brick,
