The New NUECES COUNTY COURTHOUSE
completed in August, 1977 at a cost of $20 Mil-
lion dollars consists of six blocks with parking spaces
for 791 cars. The 11-story courthouse building contains
the administrative offices and 11 trial courts, wtih 2/2
floors of the court tower unfinished for future use. The
6-story Jail Building houses Sheriff's offices, room for
over 200 prisoners and unfinished space for future
expansion. A water garden at the front entrance com-
pliments the Gold Star Mother's memorial to those
servicemen from Nueces County who died in Viet Nam
and Korea.
