THE OLD ABSINTHE HOUSE is one of the oldest 18868 buildings in New Orleans' internationally fa- mous Vieux Carre and was the headquarters, during the latter part of the 18th and the early part of the 19th centuries, of Jean Lafitte, the pirate-patriot of whose prowess and wealth volumes have been written.
