Kansas—with its rippling fields of grain, sunlit
plains and hillsides—is one of America's leading
agricultural states. Its normal yield of wheat is
one-fourth of the nation's total production.
In addition, Kansas is one of the major cattle
raising states and, among its natural resources,
are oil and gas wells, rich mineral deposits. .
The capital city is Topeka.
