At Cody, Wyoming, where the Great Plains end
at the foot of lofty mountains; on the last
battleground of the Crow and Blackfoot, in the
heart of the crude, heroic Wild West which one
day witnessed his colorful exploits-a great
bronze Buffalo Bill stands silhouetted against
Wyoming's azuro sky.
The statue, which marks ühe Eastern terininus of the
famous Cody Road or Yoilowstone, was designed by the noted
sculptress. Mrs Harry Payne Whitney, and was erected by the
Buffalo Bill American Association as a memorial to ho famous
scout, soldier, hunter and courageous rider of tue Pony Express.
