Memorial Marking Spot where Lincoln Family entered Illinois from Indiana 1830. Marks exact spot where in in 1830. Lincoln then 21, with his father's family entered Illinois from Indiana. Located at Illinois side of beautiful Wabash River Bridge named after the great emancipator. The Lincolns forded the Wabash River at Vincennes. Leading, in limestone, is the figure of his father, Thomas Lincoln. Hovering above is the spirit of Lincoln's dead mother. The bronze figure in the foreground is the artist's conception of Lincoln at 21. Lincoln is later years visited Vincennes on numerous occasions.
