SHOWN FROM JACKSON SQUARE
NEW ORLEANS, LA.
Erected in 1795 as the seat of the Spanish
government for the Province of Louisiana.
Now a historical museum. The gates at the
entrance were presented to Louisiana by the
Spanish government and are said to have
been made from the iron instruments of tor-
ture used in the inquisition days of Spain.
