Additional Details:
The true origin of the Chincoteague pony is not known. There is a tradition that the first settlers found droves of wild ponies roaming the island, the parent stock having been ship-wrecked off the coast and swam ashore. When tamed and broken, they make excellent saddle ponies. Boys and girls all over the East have enjoyed these pets from Chincoteague. Good hotels - good fishing. A good place to visit
