| Rebuilt in 1842, on site of old slave market the present structure is an exact brick replica of the old wooden market building destroyed in the hurricane of 1829. The unsual building has been used as city hall, market jail, printing shop, and is now the officer of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and police department. |
