Additional Details:
Crown Point and Vista House At Crown Point the broad highway encircles the top of a rock which stands sheer 700 feet, overlooking the mile wide Columbia below, the eye following the shining course of this broad stream for 35 miles in either direction. Vista House is built as a memorial to pioneers. It is a beautiful structure of concrete, steel, copper and glass, and used as a rest-house for the hundreds of thousands of tourists who make use of the Columbian River Highway. It occupies the highest point reached by the drive, and it provides inspiring views of teh highway. Edgar M. Lazarus, Architect, Vista House Memorial Building
