Liberty Cap is an extinct hot spring cone.
Yellowstone National Park, area 3,437 miles,
is an elevated volcanic plateau, average eleva-
tion about 8,000 feet, surrounding mountain
ranges rise another 2,000 to 4,000 feet. There
are about 3,000 geysers, the brilliantly colored
lava walls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellow-
stone, and innumerable interesting scenic spots.
