The Camel. (Camelus dromedarius.) the Camel, one of the most useful of animals, is kept in a domestic state from Africa to India; it is no loger met with wild. The Camel is able to subssist a considerable time without water, and can make long journeys carrying heavy loads without fatigue. For these reasons it is the animal best suited for raversing sandy deserts. The Arabian Camel, sometimes called the dromedary as illustrated on this card, ahs one hump on its back, while the Bacirian Camel of Asia has two humps."
