The new home of Mount Vernon's oldest and only Na-
tional Bank. Completed in April 1955, this building has
been described as the most beautiful bank of its size
in the nation. Patterned after Williamsburg, its colonial
design harmonizes with other Mount Vernon architecture,
The scenic wallpaper is of especial interest. It was made
by means of a French hand block process that dates back
to 1834, 13 years before the founding of the bank.
