Mendocino Lodge No. 179 f. & A. N. was organized Oct. 23, 1865. The temple was six years in building on the site donated by William Heeser, its first Senior Warden and for many years its Secretary. Erick Albertson, First master, was builder, and from solid wood carved the symbolic figures surmounting the cupola. Carvings within the building are also his work. Brass decorations on the Corinthian and Doric columns were made by George Hagenmeyer, a charter member. |
