| The B-1B is the first long-range heavy strategic bomber to join the SAC since the B-52 first became operational at Castle AFB. CA. The B-1B has been developed for low-level, high speed penetration of enemy defenses. The B-1B will be able to penetrate Soviet air defenses well into the 1990s using high speed, low-altitude tactics and sophisticated electronic countermeasures. |
