Additional Details:
Blizzard of 1978. On February 6th, 1978 the metropolitan Boston area was hit with a blizzard that dumped over 2? feet of snow and virtually brought everything that moved to a halt. One of the first lines to get moving was the MBTA's Riverside line. Pictured here is plow 5123, a product of 1907, bucking drifts and level snow over 30 inches deep. It has taken almost 6 hours to come from Kenmore Station out to Newton Highlands. February 9, 1978.
