Coit Tower. Coit Tower was erected on Telegraph Hill in memory of Lillie Hitchcock from funds left by her to beautify San Francisco. Lillie Coit was a San Francisco pioneer who took as active interest in the city and was decorated with the Gold Star of the V. F. Dept.
