The Federals, in advancing from the North,
used Signal Mountain as a point from which
signals were sent to the troops south of the
Mountain. Electric line now runs from Chat-
tanooga to the Mountain top 2,000 ft. above sea
level, where there is a magnificent fireproof
hotel, golf links, etc. Also excellent automobile
roads. Now famous summer resort.
