Peabody Normal College

| In 1875, the University of Nashville and the Peabody Education Fund converted the literary department into the now famous Peabody Normal College. Nearly a thousand women teachers go out from the College each year. There is a library of 15,000 volumes, and the grounds and building with equipments are valued at 250,000. |
