Built in 1772, this Colonial State House serves as the seat of the State Legislature today. It is the oldest such structure in America still in daily use. Within this building, George Washington resigned as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Forces and the Treaty of Peace with England was ratified by the Continental Congress. |
