Some of America's earliest history is to be found at fort Morgan on the eastern entrance to Mobile Bay. Focal point in battles with the British and War Between the States, it is now a fisherman's mecca. Seven flags have flown over the fort.

View of the inner walls of historic Fort Morgan on the Gulf of Mexico. Rich in history with service under seven Flags. Fort Morgan is noted for its fine brick architecture, constructed 1818-1859. This view shows spot of old cistern where confederates dumped tons of ammunition during the civil war.
