Affectionately known throughout the world as ?Bobby?, he was born in Boston, Mass., Nov. 20, 1925. Served as Attorney General of the U.S. From '61 to '64, when he resigned to run for U.S. Senate from N.Y. Sen. Kennedy was shot at 12:15 a.m. On June 5, 1968 by Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, and died some 25 hours later on at 1:44 p.m. On June 6. Funeral services were held on June 8 in Manhattan's St. Patrick's Cathedral; he was buried that night alongside his brother Jack in Arlington National Cemetery. In addition to his parents, his brother and 4 sisters, he is survived by his wife Ethel Shakel Kennedy and eleven children. His youngest, Rory Elizabeth Catherine, was born Dec. 12, 1968. While campaigning for the Presidency, Bobby often quoted from George Bernard Show: ?Some people see things as they are and ask why; I see things that never were and ask why not??
