Description:
Dedicated on June 14, 1959, this beautiful building features a large mural measuring eight by ten feet in the center front of the building between the two entrance doors. The mural commemorates the firing of the first shot for the Texas Independence on October 2, 1835, and features the "Come and Take It" cannon and flag. Burt Rees was the artist.
